On the way back to Armidale, I passed by the Moonbi Lookout. Mainly because it was at sunset, and clearly a photo must be taken. By the time I reached the peak, to my dismay the sun had moved far quicker than I anticipated.
However, my disappointment wasn’t overshadowed by the fact that the old family bbq area was in a dismal state. It is kind of sad to see something that you remember to be a fairly nice and beautiful place to have family barbecues and picnics get disregarded like this. I remember coming here as a kid with my family and having amazing lunch afternoons nibbling on sausages and KFC. Now all that’s left is a bunch of graffitied pagodas, mud, dirt and broken branches from age.
